Do you keep doing the same thing no matter how hard you want to stop? When you’re focused on what you don’t want to hit, you’re more likely to hit it. Skiers learn that. Stare at the tree you’re trying to miss, and you’ll steer right into it. It’s no different in life. Fixating on your failure, your shame, your “not enough,” just points you back toward it. So stop staring at the “tree.” Look at who you already are in Christ: loved, clean, complete. Focus on that, and that’s the direction you’ll go.
