Jesus once told a crowd, “be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5v48). That sounds impossible because it is. And that was the whole point. Jesus wasn’t demanding a new standard of behavior; He was wanting a bunch of striving, self-righteous people to cry out mercy for instead. That’s true for you too. Jesus is all about you embracing your need for grace … then Him meeting it.
