Take this for yourself: “God is not waiting for my improvement.” He isn’t waiting to love you (Romans says nothing separates us from God’s love). He isn’t waiting to forgive you (Hebrews says forgiveness was settled once for all). He isn’t waiting to be at peace with you (Colossians says that peace came through the cross already). Nothing about how God feels about you is tied to you getting better at something. So read that first line again, slowly this time. It takes away so much burden.
