I’ll never forget a dinner with an old friend who asked, “What’s your message to unbelievers?” I said, “God loves you.” Then he asked, “What about believers?” My answer was the same: “God loves you.” He looked puzzled, even a little disappointed. He feared that message lacked the challenge or depth needed for spiritual growth. But I explained, it’s actually the opposite. God’s love is the soil for growth. Fear and pressure might push us to perform, but they never produce lasting change. They stunt us. They shrink us. But love? Love frees us. It nourishes us. It draws us out of hiding and into healing. Growth doesn’t come from being driven; it comes from being rooted. So whether you’re new in the faith or decades in, the message remains the same… and it’s more than enough: God loves you. And that love is what changes everything.
