Your Past Isn’t the Problem—Your Thinking Might Be

Have you ever felt like something in your past—or even your present—disqualifies you from being used by God?

You’re not alone.

In fact, the Samaritan woman in John 4 is a powerful example of someone who, by all cultural and religious standards, should’ve been overlooked.

She had five former husbands, was living with a sixth man, and belonged to a group despised by the Jews.

On top of that, she was a woman in a time when women had little voice or value.

But Jesus saw her differently.

He didn’t shame her. He revealed Himself to her. Then He empowered her to go and tell her entire community.

And the result? Many believed—because of her. (Tradition even says her influence reached as far as Emperor Nero.)

God didn’t wait for her to be perfect. He qualified her in the middle of her story—and used her to change the world.

If you’ve ever believed the lie that your story is too messy or your past too broken, this week’s podcast is for you.
