By Ever hear someone say, “You’re dead to me”?
It’s harsh. It means, “I’m not listening to you anymore. You don’t exist to me.”
But did you know that’s exactly what Romans 6:11 says you get to say to sin?
“Count yourself dead to sin and alive to God in Christ.”
That voice that whispers, “You’re not good enough”? Dead.
That pressure that says, “You better perform or God won’t love you”? Dead.
That shame that screams, “You’re dirty, broken, beyond help”? Dead.
Jesus didn’t just cover sin—He killed its power.
He took away its threats.
He crucified its condemnation. (See Colossians 2:14–15.)
Now, you get to live dead to sin’s accusations.
Not because you’re perfect, but because He is.
This isn’t wishful thinking. It’s the reality of the cross.
Jesus fulfilled the law, broke the power of sin and declared, “It is finished.”
That means sin no longer has a voice in your life. You’re not under its rule. You’re under grace.
So go ahead, live like you’re loved.
Live like you’re free.
Live like sin doesn’t define you anymore.
