By I used to see confession like spiritual Lysol—spray it on every time I messed up.
Sin? Spray.
Shame? Spray.
Guilt? Spray.
Over and over again.
But then I got a revelation that changed everything.
Jesus didn’t die to give us a temporary cleanse whenever we do or say or ask for the right things. He died to finish the job, once and for all.
Romans 6:10 says, “When He died, He died once to break the power of sin.”
Not just to cover it. But to break its influence.
As I shared in my last post, that means sin no longer gets a say in your life. It’s not your identity. It’s not your destiny.
That’s why Paul says, “Consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:11).
Not because you’ll never mess up again, but because sin no longer defines you. You don’t owe it anything. You don’t have to carry its shame.
Friend, you’re not under law. You’re under grace. And grace doesn’t make you reckless; it makes you righteous. It empowers you to live loved, not live scared.
So here’s your permission:
Stop trying to earn what Jesus already paid for.
Stop letting sin write a story that grace already rewrote.
You’re dead to sin. You’re alive in Christ. And that changes everything.
