The first few books that I bought as a born-again Christian were on the topic of spiritual warfare.
Back then, I thought that every bad feeling, emotion or habit was the devil. So I devoured resources for strategies to fight him.
I don’t do this anymore.
One reason is because I realized that the cross defeated the devil once and for all (see Colossians 2:14–15). You don’t fight someone already defeated.
Another is because I discovered something about the devil’s name, which provides a huge clue about how to resist him effectively.
(This is a clip from my full teaching, “Spiritual Warfare Simplified.”)
P.S. For years, I tried all kinds of strategies to beat my battles. Nothing worked until I addressed the lies that were behind them.
After a decade of ministry, I’ve seen the same for many others.
That’s why I wrote my book, Shut Up, Devil.
I begin by revealing how the enemy sneaks his way into your mind. Then I teach you how to close his access to your mind.
For the rest of the book, I expose the 10 lies behind every battle you face and how to shut them down.
