By “I can’t do this. I’m not enough.”
Ever said that to God?
Gideon did. When God called him to deliver Israel, Gideon didn’t rebel—he retreated.
“How can I?” he asked. “I’m the weakest in my tribe.”
He didn’t doubt God’s power. He doubted himself.
I get it. I used to believe personal qualities disqualified me from being used by God. I thought God needed someone louder, bolder, more extroverted.
I feared I’d let Him down simply by being me.
But then I realized: God never asked anyone to fix themselves before He could work through them.
To Gideon, He said, “Go. I am sending you.”
To Moses, He said, “Go. I’ll be with your mouth.”
To Paul, He said, “My grace is sufficient for you.”
And to you? He’s saying the same.
God isn’t surprised by your weaknesses. He factored them into His plan for you. He’s not waiting for a better version of you; He’s ready to work through the real you.
