Rewriting the Story Rejection Told You

Rejection doesn’t just hurt; it tries to write your story.

It whispers, “You’re not wanted. You’re not enough. You’re not worthy.

And if you hear it long enough, you start to believe it.

But here’s the truth: you don’t have to live by that story anymore. God’s Word offers a better narrative. And renewing your mind to it is how you begin to live it.

Here’s a simple process I use called the 4 Rs of mind renewal:

  1. Read a related scripture. Try Ephesians 1:4–5: “Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us…
  2. Reflect on what it means. Ask, “What does this say about me? About God? About my situation?
  3. Rephrase your answers into a personal declaration: “I am loved. I am chosen. I am accepted.
  4. Repeat it. Think about it often. Speak it aloud, even. Over time, this intentional reflection rewires your mind.

Rejection may have shaped your past, but truth can shape your future. You are not a reject. You are God’s beloved.
