Rejection hurts.
Not just emotionally—but physically.
Science shows that the same part of your brain activated by physical pain lights up when you’re rejected. That’s why it feels so intense.
And when rejection happens repeatedly, especially in childhood, it wires your brain to expect it, even when it’s not really there.
I know this firsthand.
Growing up, I was the outcast. Picked last. Left out. That consistent rejection shaped how I saw myself and others.
I feared meeting new people, misread innocent comments as insults and believed the lie: “I am a reject.”
For years, I tried to behave my way out of it. More effort, more grit.
But healing didn’t come from doing more. It came from believing differently.
God’s truth rewired my mind.
One verse changed everything: “You did not choose me, but I chose you” (John 15:16).
That truth—I am chosen—became the foundation for healing. And through frequent reflection my brain began to shift.
This is the power of mind renewal. Romans 12:2 says, “Let God transform you by changing the way you think.”
It’s not instant, but it’s real.
Healing rejection starts with truth. Not behavior. Not hustle. But belief.
You’re not a reject. You’re chosen. Loved. Accepted. And when you believe that—really believe it—it changes everything.
